Vitamin and mineral supplements may protect against the damaging effects of smoking on male reproductive function

Czech researchers have found that smoking has damaging effects on male reproductive function and that multivitamins and minerals may protect against these effects.

In a report given at the International Society for Environmental Epidemiology meeting in Vancouver the researchers reported on their studies into the effects of smoking on 50 volunteers.

Changes in sperm density and motility were seen more frequently in smokers and multivitamins appeared to improve reproductive function.
